The film began production in 1992, but while filming the production company, Double Helix Films, went bankrupt and production was shut down. The existing footage was put together and included as a Best Buy exclusive bonus disk in the 2002 Sleepaway Camp Survival Kit DVD box set.

Sleepaway Camp 3: Teenage Wasteland (1989)

Angela (Pamela Springsteen), the murderous camp counselor of “Sleepaway Camp 2”, returns to the scene of her crimes in this no-frills installment. Assuming a camper’s identity (after mowing her down with a Mack truck), Angela arrives at Camp Rolling Hills, which was purchased and renamed “New Horizons” after her last killing spree. Husband and wife entreprenurs Herman and Lily (Michael J. Pollard and Sandra Dorsey) have reopened it as an “experiment in sharing” to bring street-smart disadvantaged kids together with snobby rich brats. Splitting up into three groups of culturally mixed teens, they go off into the woods for a camping trip designed to break down barriers. Instead, Angela finds a myriad of reasons to off her fellow campers (thanks to their constant bad behavior), and gets the job done with axes, tent spikes, a lawnmower, and firecrackers up the nose. Even the presence of an off-duty police officer (Cliff Brand), who is familar with Angela’s crimes, doesn’t deter her from slaughtering everyone for the merest provocation.

Sleepaway Camp 2: Unhappy Campers (1988)

This campy horror sequel to the original 1983 feature is laced with doses of dark humor and blood-spattering special effects. Camp Rolling Hills is losing enrollment as the “bad teens” are being murdered in various gruesome manners. Angela Baker (Pamela Springsteen) is the moralistic camp counselor who tells people the campers have been “sent home.” The victims are beaten, slashed choked, and one is even drowned in an outhouse as others die in creative and grisly ways. Renee Estevez stars as Molly, the heroine of the film who somehow manages to avoid being killed.

A deadly boating accident derails the life of a sensitive youngster, leading to confusion, madness and murder. Years after the incident, Angela (Felissa Rose) is still withdrawn and rarely speaks, living a sheltered life with her aunt and cousin Ricky (Jonathan Tiersten). The two young teens are sent off to Camp Arawak to spend the summer, and though Ricky attends every year and has plenty of friends, Angela is unable to fit in and finds herself the target of cruel taunts from her bunkmates. Her cousin is always ready to stick up for her, and she begins a timid romance with Ricky’s best friend Paul (Christopher Collet), but it isn’t enough to stop the abuse from their fellow campers. Soon a series of fatal accidents is plaguing Camp Arawak; a pedophilic cook is scalded alive, a practical joker drowns mysteriously and the boys’ restroom becomes the scene of a horrific bee swarm attack. The campers are fleeing in droves, and the few who remain begin suspecting foul play. But who is the killer? The camp’s owner (Mike Kellin) believes that the killings are only meant to ruin his business, and he’s convinced that the hot-tempered Ricky is to blame. When the evening of the camp social arrives, it proves to be the bloodiest night of all, and a terrible secret is revealed in a bizarre confrontation on the beach. This offbeat slasher mystery (also known as Nightmare Vacation) has earned a sizable cult following for its twisted sensibilities and inspired a pair of direct-to-video sequels.
